Note taking

Today in class we were going over how to properly take notes on what we were reading. Mr. Schick told us things that are subtitles and things in bold are usually important. Also, the first paragraph of what you read you usually can get the most information out of. Also, he told us that the quote that is usually in bigger print is important because it might highlight what the article is going to deal with. Then he said it was okay if not all the words are spelled right in our notes. Lastly, when we see vocab words in a different color with the definition, it is important for us to write them down. The unit will probably be easier to understand if we know the vocab words being used. This is a way to minimize what we are writing, so we are able to resist the temptation to copy every word we read. After that, we read a little section of our own and did what he said. Lastly, we found out about the Jared Diamond paper we will work on over break.
